About Us

Nestled on the main road through Chouteau, Amish Cheese House brings generations of Old-Order Amish recipes to Oklahoma soil. Step inside and you’ll smell sharp cheddar aging in the cooler, see rows of golden honey glowing in mason jars, and hear the friendly chatter of neighbors picking up fresh apple butter. Everything—from the smoked sausage links to the legendary Samokin’ BBQ sauce—is made or sourced with the same patient care the Amish have practiced for centuries. Whether you’re planning a backyard cookout or hunting for a one-of-a-kind gift, you’ll leave with a paper sack full of flavors that simply can’t be found anywhere else in the state.

"What a fun stop to come check out! Only about an hour from where we live so a nice drive and we'll worth it! Its my birthday so it was a perfect place to add in to stop in to see what kind of goodies they had! And we we're not disappointed!! Very cool, and the prices were reasonable. We liked the samples they had around. Super friendly employees! They have a bakery next to it with all homemade goodies as well, super good pricing! Fun day to treat ourselves with some delicious goodies! Highly recommend - sharp cheddar cheese, white onion cheese, and the fudge! Mmm Will definitely be back!!"

"I Always Love visiting the Amazing town of Choteau, Oklahoma. It’s always fun to stop at the Amish Cheese House. I picked up some Fresh Amish Honey, a Mason Jar of Amish Apple Butter and some Delicious Lemon Bars. The Amish people have a very large population in the town and many of the Restaurants and Bakeries are Amish Establishments. I talked to a few Amish today and I was informed that most of them in town are Anabaptists, but some are Mennonite as well. The Dutch Pantry has great food dishes and Yoder’s Farmhouse is delightful too! The Amish people are so friendly and kind hearted. It’s amazing that the Amish actually use the King James Bible for Studying and the Luther Bible for Worship to include Martin Luther’s Song Book with his Hymnals, Psalms and Protestant Foundational Folk Songs. The Amish also have Furniture Stores in town with very beautiful pieces of decor with Master Craftsmanship and Artisan Furniture."

Fresh cut deli meats and cheeses, spices, freshly baked pastries and breads, even frozen hand made meals. Frozen pizzas, to bake at home are amazing."
